Nicole Like Position: Assistant Coach Experience: First Year Alma Mater: Xavier '95

The newest addition to head coach Maria Fantanarosa’s staff, Nicole Like joined the RedHawk women’s basketball program this past summer.

Like, who played under Fantanarosa during her assistant coaching stint at Xavier, competed for the Musketeers from 1991-95, earning Midwest Collegiate Conference first-team all-Academic honors all four season. A two-time second-team academic all-American, Like served as a team captain her senior season and finished her undergraduate career with a 3.7 grade point average in sports medicine.

She earned her bachelor of science degree from Xavier in sports medicine in 1995.

“I’m looking forward to working with Nicole again,” Fantanarosa said. “She was a hard-working, competitive player at Xavier who will have a good influence on our program. Her love for the game and enthusiasm are sure to spark all of the student-athletes she works with.”

Though the majority of her work experience since completing her college degree has been as a Certified Athletic Trainer—most recently with the Tri-Health Fitness and Health Pavilion in Cincinnati—Like served as assistant girls basketball coach at Milford High School from 1996-2000. Her responsibilities with the RedHawks include working with the guards and an array of administrative duties.
