Jill Dunn begins her first season as the top assistant on the RedHawk
coaching staff.
A 1994 graduate of Georgia Southern University, where she captained the
Eagles to a Southern Conference Championship and NCAA Tournament
appearance, Dunn earned a bachelors of science degree in education. She
began her coaching career at the University of South Carolina that same
year, serving alongside Coach Fantanarosa as an assistant coach until the
two departed for Western Carolina in 1997. Dunn served as Fantanarosas top
assistant at Western Carolina during the 1997-98 season and succeeded
Fantanarosa as head coach the following season.
While at Western Carolina, Dunn guided the Lady Catamounts to a two-year
record of 23-33, including the teams best record in more than 10 years
during her inaugural season. Dunns 12 wins during that season were the
most ever by a first-year head coach at Western Carolina. Last season, Dunn
placed two players on the all-Southern Conference team while compiling an
11-17 record and eighth-place league finish.
Dunn is the primary recruiting coordinator and is also responsible for
scouting and working with the interior players.
