OXFORD, Ohio - After winning his third race in as many chances, Miami University senior Pat Sovacool has earned his third Mid-American Conference Runner of the Week Award of the year and the seventh of his cross country career in Oxford.

Going up against SEC, ACC, and South Region challengers, Sovacool led the RedHawks to a win at the University of Tennessee Invitational on Friday in Maryville, Tenn. The senior's 24:54.22 in the 8K race won the event by six seconds over the Volunteers' top-finisher, and paced the RedHawks to a team win over Tennessee, Georgia Tech and South Region contender Belmont.

Sovacool has now won six-straight races that were not conference championships, or NCAA regional, national, or pre-national competition, dating back to the 2007 Dayton 5K Challenge.

The RedHawks will next compete at the Notre Dame Invitational on Friday, Oct. 3 at 5 p.m. CT.
