OXFORD, Ohio (Sept. 23) -- Miami University's men's and women's cross country teams enjoyed strong outings at Saturday's Miami Fall Classic, running to first and second-place finishes, respectively.

Leading the RedHawks men's team was sophomore Brian Godsey, who cruised to a first-place finish in a time of 25:30. Godsey was followed closely by Ryan Clark, Adam Cross, Jerry Claunch and Ernie Ziegler, who finished third, fourth, sixth and eighth, respectively. In team scoring, the RedHawks tallied just 22 points, while second-place Ohio State tallied 39, Louisville recorded 86 and IUPUI notched 104.

Miami's women also enjoyed a solid outing, led by Andrea Kremer's first-place finish in a blazing time of 22:34. Also scoring for the Red and White were Carrie Hucko, who finished seventh, Liz Lundgren, who finished eighth, Tara Pratt, who captured 16th and Beth Hambach, who finished 17th. The RedHawks were edged by first-place Western Michigan, which totaled 44 points to Miami's 49. Eastern Kentucky finished third with 79 points, followed by Ohio State with 91, Louisville with 114 and IUPUI with 135.

The RedHawk men return to action on Sept. 30, when they compete in the George Washington Invitational in Manassas, Va. The Miami women are off until Oct. 6, when they run at the Notre Dame Invitational.
