OFF TO OHIO STATE: After winning their first scored meet two weekends ago, the Miami men's track and field team look to continue its success at the Ohio State Relays on Saturday in Columbus, Ohio. The RedHawks will be competing against Ohio State, Purdue, West Virginia, Malone, Ashland and Dayton in a competitive meet at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium beginning at 11 a.m.
MOVIN' MITCHELL: Sophomore David Mitchell (Woodridge, Ill./Downers Grove South), a second-team all-MAC cross country runner, appears to be picking up the momentum from the fall cross country season. Last weekend, Mitchell easily won the 3000-meter run at the Ball State Relays with a time of 8:36.3. Mitchell led four RedHawks to the top-four spots by easily winning the race by nearly 13 seconds
GA-GA FOR GODSEY: Senior Brian Godsey (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota East) sure has made a name for himself in the MAC despite being sidelined for nearly a year with Mononucleosis. Godsey won his ninth MAC Scholar Athlete of the Week award on Monday. The award came three days after narrowly winning the 3000-meter run.
Godsey finished the distance race in 8:33.09, to barely beat his teammate, Jerry Claunch (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota East), who finished in 8:33.11.
