Final Stats

Junior Jerry Claunch (West Chester, OH/Lakota East) placed 146th at the National Championships in Terre Haute, Ind. on Monday afternoon. Claunch earned his bid to the NCAA Championships when he led Miami with a time of 31:20.7 for a 25th place finish at the NCAA Division I Great Lakes Region Championships at Purdue's Varsity Cross Country Course in West Lafayette, Ind. on Saturday, Nov. 16.

Claunch's finish was the first time this season that he finished first for Miami. Claunch received an automatic bid when the Notre Dame and Michigan State squads earned at-large bids to the NCAA Championships.

Stanford captured the 2002 Division I Men's Cross Country Championship on Monday at Indiana State University. The Cardinal placed four runners in the overall top 10 to beat out Wisconsin, Eastern Michigan, Colorado and Oregon. The Buffaloes' Jorge Torres won the individual title with a time of 29 minutes, 4.7 seconds.
