MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - The Miami University men's cross country team finished second at the MAC Championships at Central Michigan University on Saturday, falling 19 points shy of conference champion Eastern Michigan University.

Central Michigan came in third place with 98 points, while Ohio University was fourth with 116. Akron was fifth with 120 points and Kent State's 180 points put them in sixth place. Buffalo, Bowling Green and Toledo rounded out the team scoring.

Pat Sovacool paced the RedHawk runners, finishing in fourth place at 25:05.0. Michael Veatch came in seventh place at 25:14.1. Brad Untrauer was next for MU, ending in 25:16.5, good for eighth place, while Kevin Silver was 15th with a time of 25:31.9.

Michael Perry and Paul Krebs finished 16th and 28th, respectively, with times of 25:33.6 and 25:52.9. Adam Martin rounded out the Miami scoring with a 35th place finish and a time of 26:21.2.

Ryan Dezso and Ben Famous also ran for RedHawks and finished with times of 26:27.0 and 27:32.8, respectively.

Miami will next run at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championship at Indiana University on November 10 at 11 a.m.
