Final Stats

MANASSAS, Va. - The Miami University men's cross country team ran away with a first-place team finish at the George Mason Invitational on Saturday morning in Manassas, Virginia.

The RedHawks won the race over George Mason, Maryland, Albany, Charlotte, Navy, American, Campbell and George Washington.

Pat Sovacool paced the RedHawks and the field, winning the 8K race in a time of 25:30.26. Michael Veatch was right behind him, finishing second in 25:47.42.

Brad Untrauer was seventh with a time of 25:51. 06, while Michael Perry was eighth, ending in 26:01.09.

Kevin Silver and Paul Krebs also finished in the top-20, ending 11th and 20th, with times of 26:36.13 and 28:12.32, respectively.

The RedHawks have won their first two team-scoring events of the year, and Sovacool has placed first in all three races that Miami has competed in.

The MU runners will next compete at the Pre-NCAA Invitational in Terra Haute, Indiana on October 13 at 11 a.m.
