The Miami men's cross country team proved that history can repeat itself. On Saturday, the RedHawks won their eighth consecutive the Miami Invitational on the Western Campus Course.

Junior Steve Padgett (Cincinnati, OH/LaSalle) and freshman Dan Huling (Geneva, IL/Geneva Community) took over the top two spots near the end of the race and did not relinquish them on the 8,000-meter course. Padgett finished with a time of 25:13.96 and Huling crossed at 25:14.16. Senior Adam Cross (Rochester Hills, MI/Rochester Adams) and sophomore David Mitchell (Woodridge, IL/Downers Grove South) placed fourth and sixth for the RedHawks in between two Central Michigan University runners. Senior Ryan Clark (Eaton, OH/Eaton) rounded out the top-five for Miami with a ninth-place finish and a time of 26:08.09.

The RedHawks next competition will be on Sept. 21 when the Red and White host the Miami Fall Classic.
