OXFORD, Ohio - Miami University junior Pat Sovacool has been named to the All-Mideast Region team by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association for his performance at the NCAA Mideast Regional Championships on last Friday night in Fayetteville, Ark.
Sovacool finished fourth in the 5,000 meters at the regional with a time of 14:12.84 which also qualified him for the NCAA Championships on June 11-13 in Des Moines, Iowa. The Lakewood, Ohio product has a personal and season-best time of 13:56.77 which ranks him 40th nationally going into the national championships.
At the Mid-American Championships in May, Sovacool swept the 1,500 and 5,000 meters, earning First-Team All-MAC honors.
Sovacool will run in the prelims of the NCAA 5,000-meter championships on Wednesday, June 11 at 8:50 p.m. on the campus of Drake University. The finals of the event take place on Friday, June 13 at 9:35 p.m.
