CLEVELAND, Ohio - Following a fourth-place finish at the 2008 MAC Track and Field Championships, three Miami RedHawks have earned All-MAC first-team honors, as announced by the conference office in Cleveland, Ohio.

Seniors Kevin Dwyer and Michael Veatch are joined by junior Pat Sovacool on the all-conference list.

Dwyer, a product of Arlington Heights, Ill., won the decathlon with a score of 6706 points. He also scored a second-place finish in the javelin with a throw of 207-11. He will compete this weekend at the NCAA Mideast Regionals in the javelin, while he is still in contention to compete in the nationals in the decathlon with a season-high point total of 7066, set at the Clemson Relays.

Veatch, from Middletown, Ohio, won the 3,000 meter steeplechase at the conference championships with a time of 9:06.49. His season-best time of 8:51.67 qualified him for this weekend's regional competition and placed him seventh at the 114th Penn Relays in April.

Sovacool, from Lakewood, Ohio, swept the 1,500 and 5,000 meters at the MAC Championships, winning in times of 4:02.28 and 14:53.71, respectively. He will compete in this weekend's regionals in the 5,000 meters, where he is ranked 14th in the MidEast Region.
