In the steeplechase, posted a season-best 8:58.88 ... won his first two collegiate tries at the event, including his first regional-qualifier at the Southern Ohio Cup ... At the prestigious Penn Relays, took fourth in the championship heat of the 5,000m.

2002-03: In cross country, finished third in first collegiate race, at the Purdue Open ... took second place at the Miami Invitational ... posted six top-three finishes during the track & field season, and finished in the top-eight in all eight events ... took first in the 1,500 at the Wake Forest Invitational ... finished 14th in the 5,000 at the Penn Relays in a career-best 14:11.52.
