HAFIA, Israel -- Junior swimmer Jeremy Salomon (Pepper Pike, Ohio/Cleveland Orange) captured a bronze medal in the 200-yard individual medley and placed fourth in three other events back in July at the Maccabiah Games in Hafia, Israel.

The Maccabiah Games are held every four years and are the Jewish version of the Olympics. Athletes from 52 countries competed at this year's Games. Salomon was one of 11 male swimmers chosen from a pool of 150 applicants. Among his teammates was Lenny Krayzelburg, who won three gold medals at the 2000 Summer Olympics.

Besides his bronze medal, Salomon also came in fourth in the 400 IM and 100 and 200 backstroke.

Salomon and his teammates open the season Nov. 2 at Purdue.
