WEST LAFAYETTE, Indiana - Cameron Horner, a sophomore diver from Miami University, has qualified for the 2010 NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships at Ohio State University, March 25-27, in his hometown of Columbus, Ohio.

Horner becomes the first Miami diver in 35 years to compete at the NCAA meet. Eaton, Ohio's Mark Vosler dove at the NCAA meet for Miami in 1975 at Cleveland State University.

On Friday, Horner placed fourth in Friday's three-meter competition to help cement his qualification for the national meet. Horner is the first RedHawk swimmer or diver to qualify for the NCAA Championships since Paul Ricard in 2007.

In today's one-meter competition at the NCAA Zone C meet, he placed 13th with a score of 608.25. Teammate JIMMY BERES placed ninth today with a score of 638.20. He finished eighth yesterday. Miami freshmen Chris Hoppler (Germantown, MD) and MICHAEL GRAINGER (Cincinnati) placed 25th and 30th, respectively, in Saturday's competition.

Zone C, which consists of university teams from Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Kentucky and Illinois, will send a combined total of nine one-meter, three-meter and platform divers to the NCAA Championships.

UPDATE (as of 3/14/10): These are the nine men's divers from Zone C who qualified for the NCAA meet.

In women's three-meter competition Saturday, Miami's Corrine Bangs (Monument, CO) placed 39th.

The NCAA Zone C Diving Championships conclude Sunday. Action begins at 11 a.m. ET with the men's platform competition. Hoppler will compete for the RedHawks in the platform event.
