The Miami University men's swimming and diving team travel to Ball State this weekend for their final dual meet of the season. The men's meet follows the women's meet and is scheduled to start at 4 p.m.
Last weekend, the RedHawks tied the Lords of Kenyon College, 118.5-118.5, but lost to the Eagles of Eastern Michigan, 191.5-108.5, bringing their record to 3-2-1.
After being down for most of the meet against Kenyon, senior Ryan McHugh came from behind as the anchor in the 400 free relay to dramatically tie the score. Senior Paul Ricard also helped the RedHawks as he posted two first place finishes.
McHugh and Ricard combined for three first place finishes against Eastern Michigan as well, but it wasn't enough to beat the Eagles. The meet was highlighted as seniors McHugh, Chase Mortimer, Ryan Reinke, Blake Norman and Ricard were honored before their last meet at the Nixon Aquatic Center.
Ball State last competed on Jan. 26 against Eastern Michigan and the Cardinals fell to the Eagles, 95-196.
Following the Ball State meet, the RedHawks begin preparation for the MAC/Sunbelt championships, which will be held in Nashville, Tenn. on Feb.28 and 29.
