OXFORD, Ohio - Miami University's men's swimming & diving team remains in fourth place following day two of the Miami Invitational, Saturday evening on the Miami campus. The RedHawks sit just four and a half points out of third place when action commences tomorrow, Dec. 7.

A pair of freshman were among the top finishers for Miami, as Griffin Marshall (Dallas, Texas/Jesuit College Prep) and Paul Ricard (Bowling Green, Ohio) finished near the top of their respective finals heats. Marshall was the third-place finisher in the 100 breaststroke, while Ricard took fourth in the 200 freestyle. The RedHawks also got their name in the mix, putting a pair of swimmers in the finals of the 100 backstroke. Senior Andrew Keefe (Cincinnati, Ohio/St. Xavier) and junior Jason Krasula (Perrysburg, Ohio/Perrysburg) finished seventh and eighth, respectively, in the top heat.

The RedHawks finished the day on a high note, taking second in the 800 freestyle relay. Ricard and Keefe teamed with sophomores Brian O'Rourke (Beverly Hills, Mich./Groves) and Pat Carroll (Toledo, Ohio/St. Francis DeSales) for the finish. In the 200 medley relay, Keefe was paired with Krasula, Marshall and senior Andy Uhlenberg (Rochester, Minn./John Marshall) for a fifth-place showing.

In the consolation heats, Keefe picked up a win in the 100 fly, while junior John Grubb (Centerville, Ohio/Centerville) followed suit in the 100 backstroke.

The third and final day of the Miami Invitational kicks off with preliminaries at 9 a.m. at the Nixon Center. The 1650 freestyle finals and relay events will be run during the morning session. Remainder of finals are schedule for the evening session at 6 p.m.
