Day One Results

SAN ANTONIO, Texas- Sophomore Griffin Marshall (Dallas, Texas/Jesuit College Prep) and senior Jason Krasula (Perrysburg, Ohio/Perrysburg) competed on the opening day at the U.S. Open Championships, held by USA Swimming in San Antonio, Texas.

Krasula swam the 200-Meter Backstroke in 2:11.23, good for a 17th place finish. Ryan Lochte of Florida won the race in 2:02.21. Marshall swam the 100-Meter Breaststroke in 1:07.44, taking 13th place. Vladislav Polyakov of Alabama won the race in 1:01.94.

The third member of Miami's contingent in San Antonio, junior Scott Robson (Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard South) competes Friday in the 100-Meter Butterfly. Krasula also swims tomorrow in the 100-Meter Backstroke, while Marshall competes Saturday in the 200-Meter Breaststroke.

The trio's teammates host the Miami Invitational Friday-Sunday in the team's last competition before the Ed Kennedy Relays in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., on Dec. 31.
