OXFORD, Ohio-Senior Andrew Keefe (Cincinnati, Ohio/St. Xavier) and sophomores Brain O'Rourke (Beverly Hills, Mich./Groves) and Scott Robson (Glen Ellyne, Ill./Glenbard South) posted two first-place finishes apiece as Miami University's men's swimming and diving team downed Xavier on Saturday (Nov. 22), 115-85. Miami moves to 3-2 on the season.
Keefe won the 200 Freestyle in 1:43.06, while junior John Grubb (Centerville, Ohio/Centerville) took second in the event. He later won the 200 Backstroke in 1:54.91.
O'Rourke led Miami in one-two finishes in the 100 Freestyle (0:44.11) and was followed by Grubb in second place. O'Rourke also won the 50 Freestyle (0:22.12), edging teammate freshman Paul Ricard (Bowling Green, Ohio/Bowling Green), who placed second. Ricard also captured the 200 Butterfly (1:57.38).
Robson also led a one-two finish in the 500 Freestyle (4:48.47), followed by junior Jason Krasula's (Perrysburg, Ohio/Perrysburg) second-place finish. Robson also captured first in the 400 Individual Medley, taking the event in 4:12.38.
Sophomore David Hine (Crescent Springs, Ky./Covington Catholic) was Miami's other first-place finisher, taking the 1,000 Freestyle in 10:01.12.
The RedHawks are idle until hosting the Miami Invitational Dec. 5-7.
