NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The Miami men's swimming and diving team lost to Notre Dame and Cleveland State in a double-dual meet Saturday afternoon at the Rolfs Aquatic Center.

Senior David Brown earned a first-place finish against Notre Dame in the 50-yard freestyle (21.36). He finished second in the event against Cleveland State. He was also second against Cleveland State in the 100-yard freestyle (47.56) and as a member of the 200-yard medley relay and 400-yard freestyle relay. He was second as a member of the 200-yard medley relay against Notre Dame and finished third against the Irish in the 100-yard freestyle and 400-yard freestyle relay.

Sophomore Chris Gunnels was first in the 200-yard freestyle (1:44.01) and 200-yard backstroke (1:54.62) against Cleveland State. He finished fourth and second, respectively, in the two events against Notre Dame. He was also a member of both relays with Brown.

James Beres finished first in the one- (298.90) and three-meter (310.10) diving competitions against Cleveland State. He placed third and second, respectively, against the Irish in the two events.

Head coach Pete Lindsay's RedHawks next face Ohio State and Kenyon College Nov. 13-14 at home.
