BUFFALO, NY - Miami University's men's swimming & diving team put athletes in the top-two of all 13 events, winning eight, in defeating Buffalo in a MAC dual meet Saturday afternoon for the team's first win of the season.

Senior Andrew Keefe, sophomore Zach Niehaus and freshman Paul Ricard each won two events in leading the RedHawks to victory.

Keefe won both the 100 and 200 freestyle events, leading RedHawks in the top three positions in the 100. With a time of 47.18, Keefe beat out teammates Justin Marcy and Aaron Wuensch, who finished second and third, respectively. After winning the 200 free at Friday's season-opener, Keefe once again paced the field, recording a time of 1:43.61.

In the 500 freestyle, Ricard remained undefeated in his brief collegiate career, picking up the win with a time of 4:43.03. He also took top honors in the 1000 freestyle, with a time of 9:31.62. After posting the win in the 100 breaststroke on Friday, fellow frosh Griffin Marshall won the 200 breast in 2:09.44.

Niehaus pulled out victories in both the one- and three-meter diving events for Miami. In the one-meter, he scored 255.40 points for a slim, three-point victory, while blowing the competition away in the three-meter event. Diving from three meters, Niehaus scored 275.75 points, for a 21-point margin of victory.

The RedHawks also earned a win in the 400 freestyle relay, while putting a 400 medley relay and swimmers in second place in the 50 freestyle and 200 backstroke, individual medley and butterfly events. Ricard, junior John Grubb, Marcy and Keefe formed the first-place 400 free relay.

Miami, which moves to 1-1 on the season and 1-0 in the MAC, returns to Oxford to host Ball State on Saturday, Nov. 8. The RedHawks and Cardinals hit the pool at 1 p.m.
