Oxford, OHIO- The Miami's men's swim team found a good measuring stick as to how far they need to come when they faced Big Ten foe, the Purdue Boilermakers at the Corwin M. Nixon Aquatic Center in their 2002 season opener.

Senior Kelly Ball (Granger, IN/Penn) picked up right where he left off last year; by winning all three of his races in the evening meet. Ball touched the wall first in the 100-yard freestyle, 200-yard freestyle and the 100-yard butterfly. Junior Andrew Keefe (Cincinnati, OH/St. Xavier) was the other winner for the RedHawks. Keefe took home first-place in the 200-yard butterfly and the 200-yard IM.

The final score ended with Purdue scoring 165 points to Miami's 130.

The RedHawks finish the opening weekend by traveling to Ball State for an 11 a.m. start in Muncie, Ind.
