Athens, Ga. -- Senior John Carroll (Toledo, Ohio/St. Francis) missed the finals of the 400 individual medley earlier today at the NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships in Athens, Ga.

Carroll swam a season-best time of 3:52.13 to finish 25th out of 31 competitors. The top 16 swimmers made this evening's finals.

He will compete Saturday in his second and final event of the meet, the 200 butterfly. Carroll is trying to become just the 10th All-America in school history.
