Final Stats

After the second day in Buffalo, N.Y. at the Mid-American Conference championships, the Miami men's swimming and diving team stands in third behind Eastern Michigan and Toledo at the Alumni Arena Natatorium on Friday.

In the first relay, sophomore Jason Krasula (Perrysburg, Ohio/Perrysburg), junior Paul Jacob (Cincinnati, Ohio/St. Xavier), freshman Aaron Wuensch (Allen, Texas/Plano East) and senior Dave Bergan (Cincinnati, Ohio/Princeton) swam the 200-yard medley relay in 1:33.39 for fourth place.

The next race was Miami's strongest when seniors Andy Norr (Schoolcraft, Mich./Portage Central) and Jeremy Salomon (Pepper Pike, Ohio/Cleveland Orange) placed second and third in the 400-yard IM with times of 3:58.81 and 4:01.11, respectively.

Junior Andrew Keefe (Cincinnati, Ohio/St. Xavier) followed that performance by placing fourth in the 100-yard butterfly when he touched the final wall in 0:49.96. Keefe placed fifth in the prelims during the morning and improved by one place during the evening.

Senior Kelly Ball (Granger, Ind./Penn) added more points for the RedHawks when he placed third in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 1:39.70. Ball maintained his third-place position after sitting third at the prelims.

Krasula also had a top-five finish in the 100-yard backstroke as his time read 0:51.01 for fifth place in the final event. Krasula improved from eighth place during the morning prelims.

In Friday's final event, Ball, Norr, freshman Pat Carroll (Toledo, Ohio/St. Francis DeSales) and Keefe took third place in the 800-yard freestyle relay with a time of 6:44.32.

 

 

The MAC Championships conclude tomorrow with the preliminaries starting at noon and finals at 7:00 p.m.
