INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Freshman Kyle Melling (Solon, Ohio/Solon) took third inthe 400 individual medley to lead Miami University's men's swimming & diving team at day two of the Midwest Conference Classic in Indianapolis. The RedHawks sit in sixth place despite having just four swimmers competing.

Melling touched the wall in the 400 IM in 4:14.39 after finishing first in the preliminaries. Classmate Andy Amyot (Fairport, NY/Fairport) took fifth in the 100 butterfly, finishing in 52.78, while freshman Jamie Morris (Louisville, Ky./duPont Manual) won the consolation heat of the 200 freestyle.

The trio of rookies are joined at the MCC by junior Dustin Snow (Dublin, Ohio/St. Charles). The quartet took sixth in the 200 medly relay, completing the distance in 1:41.02.

Miami competes next as a team at the MAC Championships, March 4-6, at the MAC Championships in Ypsilanti, Mich.
