INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Miami's women's swimming and diving team is in third place with 154.50 points after Day One at the Midwest Conference Classic, while the men occupy fourth with a score of 114.00. The women had three runner-up performances and the men had one on the first day of competition.

Senior Hillary Mason (Cedar Falls, Iowa/Cedar Falls) and freshman Lauren Sikes (Nashville, Tenn./Christ Presbyterian Academy) finished second in the 500 free (5:07.71) and 200 individual medley (2:10.63), respectively, while the 400 medley relay team of junior Sarah Brodbeck (Williamsville, N.Y./Williamsville North), senior Megan Wyatt (Barrington, R.I./Barrington), junior Kelly Sexton (Grand Rapids, Mich./Forest Hills) and Sikes took runner-up honors as well, touching the wall in 4:00.61.

For the men, freshman Dan Guibord (Cincinnati, Ohio/St. Xavier) came in second in the 500 free (4:40.57), senior Adam Clementi (Palatine, Ill./St. Viator) third in the 50 free (21.13) and sophomore Mike Pater (Cincinnati, Ohio/St. Xavier) fourth in the 200 IM (1:58.67).

The meet continues Feb. 15, with a morning session at 10 a.m. and an evening session at 6 p.m.
