OXFORD, Ohio -- Miami University head ice hockey coach Enrico Blasi announced today the signing of the following three incoming freshmen to National Letters of Intent for the 2006-07 season. The RedHawks received commitments from three forwards after bringing in four defensemen, three forwards and one goaltender this season.

JAROD PALMER
Forward 6-0 200 lbs. DOB: 2/10/86
Fridley, Minn.
Tri-City Storm - United States Hockey League
Current 2005-06 Statistics:
4goals -12 assists -16 points
- Ranks fourth in the USHL in scoring this season
- Was a teammate of current RedHawk Nathan Davis with the United States National Team Development Program from 2002-04.

Coach's Comments: "Jarod is a great player who will come to Miami with a great deal of experience. He played two years for the United States National Team Development Program, as well as two years as a member of the Tri-City Storm of the USHL. Jarod is strong on the puck, has good puck skills, and is an incredible leader."

Forward 6-1 190 lbs. DOB: 5/20/87
Grand Blanc, Mich.
Cedar Rapids Roughriders - United States Hockey League
Current 2005-06 Statistics:
10 games, 1 goal -1 assist -2 points, 16 penalty minutes
- Played for the United States Under-18 Team in the summer of 2004 with current RedHawks Alec Martinez and Justin Mercier.

Coach's Comments: "Gary is a big, strong winger who likes to play physical, but also has very good hands. With continued hard work he will be an impact player at our level."

Wilmette, Ill.
Team Illinois - Mid-West Elite Hockey League
Current 2005-06 Statistics:
25 games, 18 goals -33 assists -51 points, +44 rating

Coach's Comments: "Tommy is an elite player for one of the top midget teams in the country, Team Illinois. He passes the puck well, can score goals and plays physical."
