It has been a quite day in Burlington, Vt., for the No. 7 Miami RedHawks. After the game last night, the team returned to the hotel and had team dinner before calling it a night. Today the RedHawks have been focused on the game since this morning. The RedHawks are now inside Gutterson Fieldhouse getting ready for the game. Tonight's clash between the RedHawks and the Catamounts will start at 7:05 p.m. Follow the RedHawks either on the internet radio (Miami All-Access), with Greg Waddell, or on B2 the Vermont internet stream. This blog will also feature updates during the game. The starter tonight for the RedHawks between the pipes will be freshman Connor Knapp.  

Oct. 17: Vermont wins 4-3

 After Miami came out from the timout Vermonts calls for a timeout. No goalie for the RedHawks.

Reichard makes two saves in front but Vermont keeps battling and takes the lead. Justin Milo on the goal with Downing and Lenes on the assists for Vermont.

Game Notes

Cannone is coming off a career game in which he recorded six points ... Wideman is the current CCHA Rookie of the week ... Steffes recorded his first career hat trick in Miami's last game ... Camper is currently on a nine game point streak ... Miami has not lost a game in the month of October since Oct. 19, 2006 at Michigan (6-3) ... since that game the RedHawks have record of 10-0-1 in October.

Practice went well the team just in limited pads. The RedHawks had a lunch of pasta and chicken and then got some rest in their rooms. The team will head over to the rink at 5 p.m. and in order to get ready for the game. Starting tonight between to pipes for Miami will be freshmen Cody Reichard

10:00 a.m.

The RedHawks had breakfast this morning this morning and players talked about the drama last night in Fenway. Gary Steffes was more considered with reading his USA Today his cross word puzzle and the latest on the upcoming election. The team is headed to the field house for an easy skate and then will return to the hotel to get ready for their match-up against No. 17 Vermont.

 

Oct. 16

The team loaded the team bus at 4:45 a.m. at Steve Cady Arena and hit the road for Dayton International Airport. Miami took a plane from Dayton to Baltimore, made a plane change and headed to Burlington. Once in Burlington the team checked into the hotel and was given some down time before a practice in Gutterson Fieldhouse and then dinner tonight.

5:15 p.m.

The team is currently preparing for practice and will hit the ice soon as they will have to become familiar with Vermont's Olympic sized ice. This is the only time the RedHawks will play on Olympic ice this season.

9:54 p.m.

After practice the team held a meeting and returned to the hotel for a dinner of steak and potatoes. The players and coaches then returned to their rooms to relax before heading to bed. Tomorrow the team will have a morning practice before their game tomorrow night.
