OXFORD, Ohio -- Miami hockey fans can follow the RedHawks all season long in a variety of ways, including radio, television and the internet.
Greg Waddell returns for his fourth season calling all the action on the Miami ISP Sports Radio Network. A total of 22 games will be aired on WKBV-AM (1490) in Richmond, Ind., while WPFB-AM (910) in Middletown and WMOH-AM (1450) in Hamilton will broadcast 10 games each, beginning in December. All 36 regular-season games, plus any postseason action, will be available on the internet on Miami All-Access.
Head Coach Rico Blasi makes two regular appearances on local radio stations. On Wednesdays during the season, he joins Rick Duncan of G101.3 (WFMG-FM in Richmond) for a morning show segment beginning at 8:40 a.m. He also does a Friday morning interview on 105.9 The Rebel.
The McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital Miami ISP Sports Network on ONN will present the entire home schedule -- after the opener -- to television viewers. Most of the games will air live on ONN, with a select few being tape-delayed to later that night because of previous committments. Dave Allen is back in the booth for another year, with Neil Sika, a veteran of the Columbus sports scene and current Columbus Crew play-by-play announcer, joining him this season. Kevin Ackley will make selected appearances on the crew as well.
Fresh off its Frozen Four appearance, Miami will get some national exposure as well. CBS College Sports will televise the Ohio State game from Goggin Arena on Feb. 26, while Fox Sports Net Detroit will be in town on Jan. 30 (vs. Western Michigan) as part of its Hockey Day in Michigan package. Comcast will pick up selected ONN broadcasts as well to spread RedHawks Hockey to various parts of Michigan, as well.
Miami All-Access, a subscription package through MURedHawks.com, combines both the audio and video feeds for the entire home schedule. Prices start at just $6.95 a month.
