OXFORD, Ohio -- Home series against New Hampshire, Michigan and Notre Dame, plus a trip to the Florida College Classic in December, highlight the 2010-11 Miami Hockey schedule, Head Coach Enrico Blasi announced today. The RedHawks will play five weekend series against teams that competed in this year's NCAA Tournament, with the possibility of an additional meeting with St. Cloud State.

With just 11 teams competing in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA), the league adopted a new scheduling model that does not include natural rivals or scheduling pods. The conference tournament also features a new format as there will be only three series and five byes in the first round.

"I like this schedule," Blasi said. "We are in the second half of deals with UNH and St. Cloud State, two of the top 15 teams in the country. We are looking forward to Christmas in Florida, playing Maine and then either Cornell or St. Cloud. The league schedule is always tough, grueling at times. Even with 11 teams, we still have to play everyone.

After an exhibition game against Waterloo on Oct. 3, Miami will face NCAA Tournament teams in each of the first three weekends. New Hampshire visits Steve Cady Arena on Oct. 8-9, then the RedHawks travel to St. Cloud State for a matchup with the Huskies. CCHA play begins with two straight home series, Oct. 22-23 vs. Northern Michigan and Oct. 29-30 against Lake Superior State.

November features two interesting road trips for the RedHawks. Miami visits Bowling Green, under former captain and assistant coach Chris Bergeron, on the 19th and 20th, then face former assistant coach Jeff Blashill and Western Michigan the next weekend. Both coaches return to Oxford for games later in the year, Jan. 14-15 and Feb. 11-12, respectively.

Notre Dame is on the schedule four times during the year, at home Dec. 3-4 and in South Bend Jan. 28-29. Miami renews its rivalry with Michigan in Oxford on Feb 4-5. The RedHawks defeated the Wolverines three times last year, including 3-2 in double overtime in the Midwest Regional final.

The Florida College Classic includes co-hosts Maine and Cornell, plus St. Cloud State. The RedHawks will face Maine in the opener Dec. 29, then play either the consolation or championship game the following day. Games are played at Germain Arena in Estero, Fla., home of the ECHL's Florida Everblades.

Season ticket holders should have received renewal information in the mail recently. Fans interested in being added to the waiting list for season tickets should contact the Miami Athletic Ticket Office. Tickets are allocated based upon current Red & White Club giving level. Single-game ticket information will be available in September.

Game times will be announced later this year.
