PHILADELPHIA - College Hockey News announced Tuesday that three RedHawks have been named to the 2007-08 All-CHN team.  Senior captain Ryan Jones and junior defenseman Alec Martinez were honored as members of the All-CHN first team, and junior goaltender Jeff Zatkoff was named as a member of the second team.

Michigan senior forward Kevin Porter was named College Hockey News' 2007-08 Player of the Year, it was announced today. Porter, a Hobey Baker Award finalist, leads the nation with 62 points and a plus-33 rating. Porter is the second straight Wolverine to win the award, following T.J. Hensick last season.

Meanwhile, his mentor, Michigan coach Red Berenson, was named CHN Coach of the Year. He took a team that many pundits were unsure about going into this season, and has won the CCHA regular-season and conference tournament championship, and is headed to the his 10th Frozen Four. The Wolverines also won the Great Lakes Invitational this season. Berenson, a former great as a Michigan and NHL player, is 644-297-68 in 24 seasons as Wolverines head coach.

The final individual honor went to Colorado College goaltender Richard Bachman, who captured CHN Rookie of the Year. Bachman took the reins early in the season, and wound up with a 25-9-1 record, 1.85 goals against average and .931 save percentage.

The All-Rookie team features three first-rounders from last June's NHL Draft, though does not include first-rounders Kyle Turris of Wisconsin and James vanRiemsdyk of New Hampshire, who went in the top three overall. Turris just left Wisconsin to sign with the Phoenix Coyotes.

Voting was done by a College Hockey News insider panel. CHN publishes year-round on the Web at www.collegehockeynews.com. Other honors are listed below:
