OXFORD, Ohio -- With all four CCHA first-round series ending tonight, Miami learned that it will welcome a familiar face to Steve Cady Arena next weekend for its second-round matchup. The top-seeded RedHawks will host No. 8 seed Ohio State March 12-14 with a trip to Joe Louis Arena on the line.

The RedHawks and Buckeyes closed the regular season just last weekend with a home-and-home encounter. Miami won the opening game 6-2 in Oxford Feb. 25 before the teams skated to a scoreless tie in Columbus the next night.

As natural rivals, MU and OSU also met for a series in December with the RedHawks winning by 6-0 and 4-2 counts. Miami leads the all-time series by a 61-56-12 margin, but has posted an 11-1-2 record over the last 14 games. At home, the RedHawks stand 38-21-4 overall.

The best-of-three series at Steve Cady Arena opens Friday at 7:35 p.m with game two slated for Saturday night at 7:05 p.m. Should a third game be necessary, it would be played Sunday at 7:05 p.m.

With Miami University on Spring Break, several arena sections normally reserved for students will be sold to the public as general admission. Tickets are $21 for adults, $15 for youth and $3 for Miami students and can be purchased by calling the athletic ticket office at (513) 529-HAWK.

The other three CCHA second-round series include No. 7 Michigan at No. 2 Michigan State, No. 6 Nebraska-Omaha at No. 3 Ferris State and No. 5 Alaska at No. 4 Northern Michigan.
