OXFORD, Ohio -- For the second straight week and fourth time this year, Miami ranks second behind Denver in the national hockey polls announced Monday. The RedHawks lost some ground to the Pioneers after a win and a tie against Ohio State.

The top 12 teams are the same in both polls, with Wisconsin, Yale, St. Cloud State and Boston College rounding out the top five. In the USCHO.com/CBS College Sports poll, Denver gained 48 of the 50 first-place votes wtih Miami receiving the other two. The RedHawks totaled 940 points to Denver's 998 points.

In the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine version, Denver was listed first on 32 of 34 ballots for a total of 508 points while Miami gained 476 points and two first-place votes. The INCH Power Ratings also had Denver first and Miami second.

Miami has this week off and awaits the winner of a CCHA Tournament First-Round series. The games will be played March 12-14 at Steve Cady Arena.
