Drafted by San Jose in 2008 in the 6th round and signed with the Sharks in June of 2010 after his junior season.

Served as team captain... a second-team All-CCHA performer... named "Best Defensive Forward" in the CCHA... one of six RedHawks to start all 44 games this season... ranked fourth on the team with 42 points (17g, 25a)... had three multi-goal games while the 17 goals were second on the team... tied for eighth in the CCHA in points per game during conference play with 1.0 per game... ranked third in the CCHA with 15 goals during conference play... tied for eighth in the CCHA with 11 power-play points (6g, 5a)... tied for fourth in the CCHA with six power play goals... tied for second in the CCHA in game-winning goals with five (also tied for seventh nationally)... tallied a career-high five points, with four goals and an assist, against Ohio State (Dec. 11)... the four goals scored against Ohio State were his first career hat trick and marked a career high for goals scored... scored short-handed Nov. 20 at Western Michigan... matched a career high in assists with three against UNH (Oct. 16)... finished with a +18 rating... led the team with 158 shots... blocked 29 shots.
