Prior to Miami
Played for the U.S. National Development Team in 2009-10 and 2010-11 ... in USHL action had 11 points both seasons, playing 24 games in 2009-10 and 20 games in 2010-11, when he scored seven goals ... racked up 95 penalty minutes over the two seasons ... served as team captain in 2010-11, totaling 28 points in 48 games competing for the U.S. U-18 Team, including 17 goals ... led the U.S. to two IIHF U-18 World Championships in 2010 and 2011, scoring the overtime goal in the semifinals of the 2011 tournament to push the U.S. to the gold medal game ... also won a gold with the U.S. U-17 team at the World U-17 Hockey Challenge.
