The Miami RedHawks have chosen sophomore forward Carter Camper as their candidate for the 2009 Hobey Baker Memorial Trophy. Camper has been one of the top players for the Red and White since he stepped on campus a season ago and currently holds a average of 1.19 points per-game for his career. Camper leads the team in goals and points this season and is one point behind of Hobey Baker Hat Trick Finalist Ryan Jones' point pace from a season ago. Camper's point per-game average is the best of any player in the Enrico Blasi era.

Camper Career Highlights and Milestones

-Scored his first career goal against Nebraska-Omaha on Oct. 26, 2007 in Steve Cady Arena. The goal was scored shorthanded and assisted by Ryan Jones.

-Recorded his first career point and first career assist against the University of Vermont on Oct. 13, 2007.

-Netted his first career power-play goal and game-winning goal against Michigan State on Nov. 16, 2007. Camper scored found the net at 9:25 of the first period on assist from Pat Cannone and Brian Kaufman.

-Scored the game-tying goal against Air Force in the first round of the 2007 NCAA tournament. The goal even the score at 2-2 and Miami won in overtime to advance to the NCAA regional final.

-Recorded his first career hat trick against Western Michigan on Dec. 7, 2008.

-Camper has been at his best when the spot light is on as he has recorded eight-combinded points in the two games this season in which Miami has been featured on ESPNU.

-Camper was named to the CCHA all-rookie team following the 2007-08 season and led the nation in point per-game by a freshman.

-Over the past two season Camper has been of the top players in the country as he averages 1.19 points per-game.

-Camper was named CCHA Offensive Player of the Week on Dec. 15

-Named the CCHA Player of the Month with 10 points (4-6-10) in four games during December.

- Camper is currently tied for 10th in the nation in goals and 16th in points.
