SILVIS, Ill. - Former Miami University golfer Brad Adamonis pared the final hole of regulation at the John Deere Classic to force a three-man playoff with Kenny Perry and Jay Williamson, but a par on the first sudden-death playoff hole by Perry gave him his third PGA Tour win of the season. Adamonis finished in a tie for second place with Williamson, marking the best finish of his career.

Adamonis' previous top-finish on tour this season was a tie for sixth place at the Traveler's Championship in Cromwell, Conn. on June 22.

Adamonis posted three consecutive rounds of 66 at the par-71 TPC Deere Run to put him atop the leader board with Perry and Eric Axley at 15-under par heading into the final round.

Playing in the final group on Sunday for the first time in his PGA Tour career, Adamonis was tied for the lead at 16-under par until a bogey on the 14th hole coupled with a Perry birdie on the same hole created a two-shot swing in Perry's favor. Perry made a lengthy par putt on the par-three 16th hole to keep maintain his two-shot lead over Adamonis, but birdies by Williamson and Adamonis on the 17th hole brought Williamson and Adamonis within one shot of Perry heading to the 18th hole. After Perry bogeyed the final hole, Adamonis stood in the fairway of the 18th hole tied with Perry and Williamson at 16-under par. Adamonis hit his approach shot within 20-feet of the pin and had a putt to win his first tour event, but the putt fell a bit short. Adamonis tapped in for par and moved on to a sudden-death playoff with Perry and Williamson, the first playoff of his career.

On the first playoff hole, both Adamonis and Williamson hit their approach shots in the water opening the door for Perry. Perry hit the middle of the green with his approach and a two-putt par secured Perry's third victory of the year.

For the week, Adamonis ranked among the top-10 in the field in eagles, birdies, driving distance and greens in regulation.
