MIDDLETOWN, Ohio – The Miami University golf team held its annual golf outing Tuesday at the Brown’s Run Country Club in Middletown, Ohio. The event was very successful, as the RedHawks had 17 teams come out and play, and they exceeded every fundraising goal for the event.
“On behalf of the entire men’s golf program, I would like to thank everyone from the Miami golf family who came out and supported this special event,” said head men’s golf coach Casey Lubahn. “I would like to also thank Josh Fenton and his wife Lindsay for their passionate work on this event.”
One was the special guests at the event was former Miami golfer and PGA Tour veteran Brad Adamonis. After competing in the Player’s Championship over the weekend, he flew in on Monday for the fundraiser.
“We were so humbled that Brad took the time from his demanding schedule to give back to his alma mater,” said Lubahn. “It shows the true character of Brad and represents the best of Miami golf.”
Other alumni in attendance included Mitch Mahoney, Don Isgrig, Dr. Bill Thomas, Jack Fitzgerald, Jim Muething, Rob Davidge and Larry Van Arendonk. Also on hand from the Miami family included former men’s golf head coach Rodger Cromer along with his wife Jan, head football coach Michael Haywood, head men’s basketball coach Charlie Coles, head women’s basketball coach Maria Fantanarosa, director of hockey operations Nick Petraglia and athletic director Brad Bates.
The entertainment for the event included national long distance celebrity Mike Zeigler, who wowed the crowd with his 375+ yard drives, and a ceremony honoring the team's five seniors—Ben Bastel, Anthony Cordes, Aaron Crist, Mark Robinson and Ben Wood.
