NASHPORT, Ohio--After three rounds a the Mid-American Conference Men's Golf Championships held at Longaberger Golf Club, Miami University's golf team sits in a tie for seventh place heading into the final round of the three-day, 72-hole tournament on Sunday.
Freshman Michael Drobnick paced the RedHawks in the third round, carding a 75 for the day. After going 4-up through the first nine holes, Drobnick was 1-under through the back nine to leave him at 3-over for the round. He sits in a tie for 18th place at 10-over-par 226.
Freshman Nathan Sutherland leads the RedHawks in a tie for 12th place at seven-over par 223. After firing a 73 and a 72 in the first two rounds, respectively, Sutherland carded a 78 in the third round.
With a 77 in the third round, junior Ben Bastel is tied for 24th place at 14-over par 230. Junior Ben Wood carded a 76 in the third round for the RedHawks and moved into a tie for 36th place at 19-over par 235. Carding an 80 in the third round, junior Mark Robinson sits one stroke behind Wood at 20-over par 236 to tie for 39th place.
Miami is scheduled to tee off beginning at 8 a.m. on Sunday, May 4.
