STATE COLLEGE, Pa.--Three RedHawks finished among the top 15 as the Miami University men's golf team finished second among the 12-team field at the Rutherford Intercollegiate.

Freshman Nathan Sutherland led the RedHawks for the sixth time this season and tied his best finish as he placed second at six-over par 219. It was Sutherland's ninth top 25 finish of the season. He finished just three strokes behind tournament winner Robert Rohanna (Penn State), who won the tournament for a second straight year. Firing a 68 in the first round, Sutherland led the field after the first 18 holes.

As a team, Miami finished second only to host Penn State who won the tournament with a score of 286-286-306=878. Miami's score for the 54-hole tournament was 294-289-311=894. The RedHawks' second-place finish marked their ninth top-10 finish this season and their fourth top-five finish. It also was the third time this season the Red and White has finished among the top two.

Juniors Ben Wood and Ben Bastel finished in a tie for 13th place at 13-over par 226. Junior Aaron Crist tied for 34th place at 19-over par 232, while freshman Michael Drobnick tied for 38th place at 20-over par 233.
