Zac Zedrick begins his first season as the new leader of the Miami men's golf program. He comes to the RedHawks after three seasons as an assistant coach at Wichita State.

"I'm truly grateful for the opportunity that Brad Bates, President Hodge and (Associate Athletic Director) Josh Fenton have provided me at Miami," said Zedrick. "I was so impressed with the culture and vision of the Athletic Department during the interview process and really feel that it aligns perfectly with my philosophy as a coach. I think the foundation for success within the golf program has been built within the past few years and I'm excited to work, learn, and grow with our student-athletes."

While at Wichita, he helped lead the Shockers to the Missouri Valley Conference Championship each year. They also participated in the NCAA Regional each season and three golfers earned All-America status. Zedrick aided in all aspects of recruiting for Wichita, while serving as the tournament director for their home tournament, the Diet Pepsi Shocker Classic.

"Zac brings a wealth of energy, experience and integrity to our program, and he has worked with some of the best mentors in the sport of golf," said Bates. "His inherent attributes will immediately have an impact on our program and will ensure it continues its trajectory of being one of the premier men's golf programs in the nation. We are very excited to have Zac lead our program and help realize our lofty visions."

Prior to his time in Wichita, Zedrick spent two seasons as a Graduate Assistant Coach at Toledo. While there he helped with all aspects of recruiting as well as providing on-course instruction during competitions.

Zedrick was a four-year letterwinner for Michigan State University. He served as team captain in each of his final two years. He was a member of the Academic All-Big Ten team in each of his final three seasons with the Spartans.

Zedrick earned his bachelor's degree in communications from Michigan State. He graduated with High Honors. He earned his master's degree from Toledo in 2008 in recreation management with an emphasis in athletic administration.

"The strong sense of community support I felt while visiting really appealed to me and my wife, Amanda, at a personal level," said Zedrick. "The atmosphere that comes with living in a college town is energizing to both of us and we look forward to embracing the sense of family that Miami University and Oxford provides."
