MIAMI-OHIO GAME NOTES Get Acrobat Reader

A 4-2 Ohio University team, unbeaten in Mid-American Conference play, provides Saturday's competition for Coach Michael Haywood's Miami University football squad.

PREVIEWING OHIO: Coach Frank Solich's Bobcat defense forced five turnovers Saturday night to power Ohio past the Akron Zips 19-7 at InfoCision Stadium. The victory improved OU's MAC record to 2-0 (4-2 overall). It's Ohio's first 2-0 conference start since 1999. Junior running back Vince Davidson led Ohio's rushing attack vs. Akron with a career-best 69 yards on 12 carries. He shares tailback duties with Chris Garrett (341 net rushing yards). Senior quarterback Theo Scott completed 11 of his 21 passes for 132 yards against the Zips, boosting his 2009 passing yardage to 1,051 yards. Ohio's top two receivers are Taylor Price (24 for 412 yards) and LaVon Brazill (16-211). Defensively, linebackers Noah Keller (64 tackles) and Lee Renfro (50) rank among the league's top 14 tacklers. As a team, Ohio is No. 1 in pass defense efficiency among MAC teams.

SERIES HISTORY: It's the 86th all-time match-up between Miami and Ohio. The RedHawks lead the series by a margin of 51-32-2 and are 21-20 in games at Athens. Ohio has been victorious in the last three games, including last year's 41-26 season-finale triumph at Yager Stadium.
