COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Miami University and Ohio State have announced a Noon kickoff time for their Sept. 3 season opener at the Buckeyes' Ohio Stadium in Columbus. The game, which marks the fourth meeting
between the programs on the gridiron, will be carried regionally by ABC.
Meeting for the second time since 2000, when Ohio State collected a 27-16 win in Columbus, the programs are both coming off bowl game appearances in 2004. Ohio State figures to carry a Top 10 preseason national ranking into the game, while Miami brings a veteran squad that is expected to feature 15 senior starters and contend for a third straight Mid-American Conference title game appearance. Ohio State, which had not played Miami since 1911 prior to the teams' 2000 meeting, leads the overall series 3-0
The RedHawks will be making their second appearance on ABC in as many years. Last season, Miami made its debut on the network in a loss at Michigan. The game will mark the debut of Shane Montgomery as Miami's head coach.
Tickets for the game are still available through Miami's Athletic Ticket Office to season ticket holders or those who purchase season ticket packages. Packages start at $50. For more information, click or call 1-866-MUHawks.com.
