OXFORD, Ohio - Miami University has secured a multi-game agreement with the University of Missouri to play home-and-home football games, Director of Athletics Brad Bates announced today.
The series with Missouri is a two-year deal that will feature games in Columbia in 2010 and in Oxford in 2012. The Tigers and RedHawks have not previously met on the gridiron.
"We are very excited to be playing one of the premier college football teams in the country and especially to have the opportunity to host Missouri at Yager Stadium for our students, alumni and fans," said Bates. "We are appreciative of Missouri's partnership in the series and look forward to competing with such an exceptional program."
Tickets for Miami's six home football games in 2009 are now available. The schedule not only includes the September 5 contest in the Queen City against Kentucky, but also five games at Yager Stadium on the Oxford campus. An October 3 Family Weekend battle versus nationally ranked Cincinnati, a Homecoming game against 2008 bowl participant Northern Illinois on October 24, a Halloween afternoon tilt versus intrastate rival Toledo, and exciting November games under the lights against Bowling Green and MAC Champion Buffalo make up the schedule of games located in Oxford.
