OXFORD, Ohio -
Under sunny skies and perfect weather, the Miami University football team took to the field for the first time in 2010, as the RedHawks held their first spring practice Saturday from about 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. inside Yager Stadium.
An enthusiastic and energetic group of Miami coaches and players went through individual and position-specific drills, conditioning and eventually 11-on-11 work, but had limited contact as players did not wear pads.
The RedHawks have 14 more practices remaining, culminating in the spring game Saturday, April 10 at 1 p.m. at Yager Stadium. Miami holds its second spring practice, which will see players in full pads for the first time this spring, on Monday, March 22 in the morning. Miami also will practice Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday before holding its first scrimmage on Saturday, March 27.
