CINCINNATI - Despite 235 yards passing from Daniel Raudabaugh, the Miami University RedHawks were unable to overcome a costly turnover and four Cincinnati touchdown plays of 20-yards or more, falling to the Bearcats on Saturday night, 45-20, at Nippert Stadium

Raudabaugh ended the night with 28 completions on 42 attempts with two touchdowns. His one intereception was a costly one, as it was returned 72 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter by Mike Mickens.

The RedHawks set a season high in total plays with 74 and held the ball for 34:57 compared to 23:40 for the hosts.

Chris Givens and Armand Robinson each caught touchdown passes from Raudabaugh with Givens' 34-yard touchdown closing the UC lead to 24-20 with 10 minutes left in the third quarter.

A successful onside kick by the RedHawks gave Miami the ball in UC territory with a chance to take the lead before Micken's score stopped the RedHawk threat.

Clayton Mullins totaled 10 tackles to lead the Miami defense, while NCAA-leader Jake Richardson averaged 49 yards on four punts.

Miami next opens Mid-American Conference play when Temple visits Yager Stadium for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff on Saturday, Oct. 4.
