Today's meeting was the first ever between Miami and Boise State. It was also Miami's first game in the state of Idaho.

Freshman defensive lineman Joseph Williams and junior linebacker DeAndre Gilmore made their first career starts against Boise State.

Redshirt junior tight end Jordan Stevens made his first-career catch, a four-yard snag in the first quarter, after switching from defensive lineman to tight end this season.

Senior punter Chris DiCesare booted a career-long punt of 56 yards in the first quarter, bettering his previous career best by nine yards.

Redshirt junior cornerback Brandon Stephens made his first-career interception in the second quarter, picking off BSU's Kellen Moore on the 1-yard line and returning it for 12 yards.

Redshirt junior wide receiver Armand Robinson tied a career high with five receptions, which totaled 54 yards.

True freshman tailback Roman Lawson saw his first collegiate action against Boise State, taking his first carry at Miami for a one-yard gain.

Redshirt freshman Zac Dysert saw his first collegiate action at quarterback, as his first collegiate pass was intercepted. Dysert completed his first collegiate pass on his second attempt for a gain of seven yards to junior wide receiver Chris Givens.

After going 2-for-15 on third downs last week vs. Kentucky, Miami finished 7-for-15 on third-down conversions this week. The RedHawks also had just 10 first downs a week ago but equaled that total in the first half tonight. Miami finished with 14 first downs.

Miami was shut out in its first two games of the season for the first time since 1940. It is just the fifth time in the history of Miami football it has been shut out in its first two games of a season. The three other times were in 1901, 1899 and 1897, but only in 1899 did Miami start with two such losses. The other three times Miami opened the season with a scoreless tie.

Miami was shut out in back-to-back games for the first time since 1982 (Oct. 16 and Oct. 23 by Western Michigan and Ohio).

The 48-point loss was Miami's worst since a 49-0 loss at Michigan State Sept 16, 1989.
