ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Two quick University of Michigan scores to start the game proved to be enough as Miami University's football team fell to the Wolverines 16-6 at Michigan Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The Wolverines held a 10-0 lead by the 8:53 mark of the first quarter, but the RedHawks shrunk the gap while holding Michigan scoreless for nearly 45 minutes. A pair of field goals by Nathan Parseghian put the RedHawks within four. Parseghian hit a 27-yard field goal at 3:58 in the first quarter and then connected on a 23-yard attempt at 6:37 in the third quarter.

Miami continued to hold the Wolverines scoreless until Brandon Minor dove into the endzone after a 15-yard run at 8:21 in the fourth quarter for a Michigan touchdown. The extra point attempt was no good, leaving the score at 16-6 in favor of Michigan.

Miami starting quarterback Daniel Raudabaugh ended the day with 191 yards through the air on 20-of-33 passing. Redshirt freshman Clay Belton came into the game late after a Raudabaugh injury and went 3-for-7 for 14 yards in his first collegiate action.

Miami's Thomas Merriweather led all ball carriers with 77 yards on 21 carries.

Defensively, the RedHawks were led by Clayton Mullins, who totaled 10 tackles, including nine solo stops and 4.0 tackles for loss.

Miami, now 0-2, will host Charleston Southern next Saturday at 3 p.m. ET at Yager Stadium.
