A former walk-on who emerged as the RedHawks' starting punter during the spring of 2001 ... split punting duties with Ben Roethlisberger in 2003 ... expected to handle all of Miami's punting in 2004 ... possesses a big leg.
2003 SEASON
Averaging a career-best 41.4 yards per punt, despite getting only 2.3 attempts per game ... gave way to Ben Roethlisberger on punts near midfield ... had six efforts of 50 yards or longer and seven punts placed within the opponents' 20-yard line ... booted a career-long 62-yard attempt versus Iowa ... named MAC East Special Teams Player of the Week after booting three punts an average of 49.0 yards versus Cincinnati (Sept. 27).
2002 SEASON
Averaged 41.7 yards per punt on 40 punts ... pinned the opposition inside the 20 yardline seven times ... booted a career-long 56-yard punt in season finale versus UCF (Nov. 23) ... had six punts that traveled 50 yards or greater.
2001 SEASON
Handled all of Miami's punting responsibilities ... averaged 38.6 yards per punt ... placed 13 punts inside the opponents' 20-yard line ... had no punts blocked ... booted a season-long 55 yard punt in defeat of Cincinnati (Sept. 22) ... had six punts of 50 yards or greater.
2000 SEASON
Redshirted.
HIGH SCHOOL
Lettered three years as a receiver and punter at Valley View High School ... averaged 42 yards per punt ... only lost three games in prep career ... the Spartans captured state titles his freshman and sophomore seasons ... an all-region, all-district and second-team all-state selection his senior year ... tabbed "Wide Receiver of the Year" in the Southwestern Buckeye League ... coached by Jay Niswonger.
