Perhaps the greatest punter in RedHawk history, the native of Oxford and graduate of Talawanda High School began his career as a walk-on. His career punting average of 42.8 yards per kick (219 punts) sets atop Miami all-time list in that category.
Richardson's senior-season average of 45.4 yards per punt in 2008 also is Miami's record. His average ranked fourth in the nation that season.
He lettered four times for the RedHawks, from 2005-08, and was Miami's Most Valuable Player as a senior. Richardson played in the East-West Shrine Senior Bowl.
The following season, he had National Football League tryouts with both the Chicago Bears and the Indianapolis Colts. In 2010, Richardson signed a free-agent contract with the Cincinnati Bengals.
The 2008 Miami graduate earned a degree in health and sports studies. Richardson's family includes his wife, Abby, and their son, Quintin.
