A former walk-on football player and student coach for the RedHawks, Nic Manning enters his first season as a graduate assistant with Miami University's football program.
A native of Kettering, Ohio, Manning spent four seasons as a reserve linebacker and special teams contributor before his career was ended by injury midway through his senior season. He remained involved with the program as a student coach, assisting with various gameday responsibilities and game breakdowns.
Manning attended Fairmont High School during his prep career, earning all-conference and all-area recognition at linebacker while averaging 11.0 tackles per game for his career.
Manning, who earned his bachelor's degree in business management from Miami in 2006, is the nephew of Ball State head coach Brady Hoke and Houston Texans Defensive Back coach John Hoke.
